YMCA Camp teaches self-reliance, instills a love for nature and the outdoors, and builds character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, canoeing, archery, friends, zip-lining, paddleboarding, mentorships, ropes course, and so much more. YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir is positively the best way to change a child’s life. Our YMCA Camp Horsethief Reservoir is ACA-Accredited. This means that the American Camping Association, the only national accrediting body for camps of all types, has ensured that the YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir meets the accreditation standards for health, safety and risk management. ACA accreditation provides public evidence of a camp’s commitment to the well-being of campers and staff.

Responsibilities 

• Drive YMCA shuttle vehicle safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, staff, and volunteers
• Create a safe environment in which others feel welcome and respected.
• Ensure YMCA shuttle rules are announced and followed.
• Complete thorough pre- and post-trip checks each day.
• Clean out YMCA shuttle vehicle each day.
• Fulfil all job requirements from CD Assistant Teacher when assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to meet YMCA transportation/driving requirements.
• Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging 10 to 12 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday 8:15am to 9:30am
